avriel Legynd is CEO of VisioneerIT, a firm specializing in Technology, Marketing and Digital Security. With well over 20 years in the technology industry, Dr. Legynd built VisioneerIT with the goal of providing enterprise level Digital Transformation and Resilience solutions. Prior to founding VisioneerIT he was a federal employee with the Department of Commerce where he was a Computer Scientist leading security operations for several mission critical systems. His experience also includes cybersecurity positions with Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, National Institute of Standards and Technology, HHS, ESRI and CACI just to name a few.
Dr. Legynd currently serves as an Executive Board member of the Disability Law Center of Virginia and Co-Chair of the NGLCC Trans and Gender Non-Conforming Inclusion Taskforce as well as an Executive Board Member for the Sam & Devorah Foundation for Trans Youth. Additionally he is a mentor for the CivStart GovTech, FusionCyber and also the Virginia SMART Communities STEM organization. He has been a mentor for the American Marketing association and served as Vice President for the African American Marketing Association.
Dr. Legynd has spoken at Inc 5000, National Business Inclusion Consortium, Congressional LGBT+ Equality Caucus, John Hopkins School of Business, National LGBT Chamber of Commerce events, Metropolitan College of New York Bronx, Patent and Trade office Diversity events, The Jewish Federation and featured in Hispanic Network Magazine and the Baltimore Business Journal.
Dr. Legynd has a Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Masters Degree in Network Security,PhD in Computer Science, and a Juris Doctorate as well as a number of certifications in the area of Security and Technology.
He is a passionate advocate for the Transgender Community and for Jews of Color and enjoys discussing anything related to Veganism.
